Terms of use
The short version: the converter is free, it comes with no guarantees, and you are responsible for making sure you have the right to download what you paste. Use it for your own videos, openly licensed material and content you have permission to copy. Do not use it to take other people's copyrighted work.
1. Agreement
By loading Y2Mate at webcreative.com.pl or submitting a link to it, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the site. "We" and "us" mean the operator of webcreative.com.pl, which publishes the tool under the name Y2Mate; "you" means anyone who visits or uses it.
2. What the service is
Y2Mate is a web page that takes the address of a single YouTube video and returns either an MP3 audio file (192–320 kbps) or an MP4 video file (up to 1080p) to your browser. It is free of charge, requires no account, and installs nothing on your device. The conversion is carried out by a relay under our control and an upstream encoding service; the finished file is delivered from that service to your browser.
3. Acceptable use
You may use the service only for content you are entitled to reproduce. That includes, for example:
- videos you uploaded yourself;
- works released under a Creative Commons or similar licence that permits copying, within that licence's conditions;
- public-domain recordings;
- any video whose rights holder has given you permission to download it.
You may not use the service to:
- download or distribute copyrighted material without the rights holder's permission;
- circumvent access controls, paywalls or regional restrictions;
- run automated or bulk requests against the site or its relay, or build another service on top of it;
- interfere with the operation of the site, probe it for vulnerabilities, or attempt to access its infrastructure;
- use it in any way that breaks the law where you are, or the terms of service of YouTube.
Whether a particular download is lawful depends on the content and on your jurisdiction. The tool cannot make that judgement for you, and by using it you confirm that you have made it yourself.
4. Copyright and takedowns
We respect the rights of creators. If you own rights in a video and want it blocked from conversion, follow the procedure on the DMCA page; valid notices are acted on by adding the video to a block list at the relay, after which conversion requests for it are refused.
5. No warranty
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that it will be available at any given time, that every video will convert, that a conversion will finish within any particular time, or that the output will meet a particular quality. Videos may fail for reasons outside our control, including changes on YouTube's side, regional restrictions, or the upstream service being unavailable. Features may be changed or withdrawn without notice.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service — including loss of data, loss of profit, or claims by third parties relating to content you downloaded. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the service, which is nothing. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
7. Your responsibility
You agree to hold us harmless from any claim, cost or demand arising from your breach of these terms or from content you obtained through the service in breach of a third party's rights.
8. Privacy
How the site handles the links you paste and the technical data of your requests is described in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
9. Third-party sites
The site links to YouTube and to the hosting and CDN providers it relies on. Those sites have their own terms and privacy practices, which we do not control and are not responsible for.
10. Changes and termination
We may update these terms by publishing a new version on this page with a new effective date; the new version applies from that date. We may suspend or block access to the service, in whole or for particular videos, at any time and for any reason, including a takedown notice or suspected abuse.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the country in which the operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes are subject to the courts of that country, except where the law of your own country of residence gives you protections that cannot be waived.
