Privacy policy
In one paragraph: there are no accounts, no sign-in and no advertising on this site, so we hold no profile of you. When you convert a video, the link you paste and the ordinary technical details of the request (your IP address, browser type, the format you chose) pass through our servers for as long as the conversion takes. We keep aggregate counters, not a per-person history.
Who is responsible
Y2Mate (webcreative.com.pl) is operated by the site's owner, reachable at contact@webcreative.com.pl. This policy describes what the site does with information when you use it; it does not cover YouTube, Google or any other site you reach by following a link from here.
What is processed when you convert a video
Using the converter sends three kinds of data to us:
- The YouTube link you paste. The eleven-character video identifier is extracted in your browser and passed to our conversion relay so it can fetch and encode the video. It is used for that request and is not attached to any record of you.
- Request metadata. Like every web server, ours receives your IP address, the browser and operating system you use, the time of the request and the page that made it. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes the same data to deliver the site and to filter abusive traffic, under its own privacy terms.
- Usage counters. For each conversion attempt we record which step it reached, whether it succeeded, the format (MP3 or MP4) and how long it took. These counters are aggregated per site, not per visitor, and they let us notice when the service is failing. They contain no video identifiers and no IP addresses.
What is not collected
- No name, email address or password — the site has no accounts.
- No conversion history tied to you. We cannot show you, or anyone else, a list of what you converted.
- No advertising identifiers and no ad networks. The page loads no advertising script.
- No analytics cookies. The site sets no cookies of its own; our hosting provider may set a purely technical cookie when it challenges suspicious traffic.
- No copy of the converted file. The MP3 or MP4 is delivered to your browser from the conversion service and is not stored by us.
Third parties involved
Three outside services are part of delivering the tool:
- Cloudflare hosts the pages and the conversion relay, and therefore sees the request metadata described above.
- The upstream conversion service that actually encodes the file receives the video identifier and the format you chose, and serves the finished download to your browser directly. Your IP address is visible to it at the moment of download, as it would be to any file server.
- unpkg.com serves the small icon library used on the page. Loading it reveals your IP address and browser to that CDN, in the same way as any static file request.
None of these receive your name or any account information from us, because we have none.
Retention
Request logs at the hosting layer are retained for a short rolling window (measured in days) for security and debugging, then discarded. Aggregate usage counters are kept indefinitely but cannot be traced back to a person. The video identifier is not retained after the conversion completes.
Your rights
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with data-protection law, you have the usual rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction and objection. In practice there is very little to exercise them against: with no accounts and no per-user history, a request to delete "your data" typically has nothing to act on. If you believe that is not the case for you, write to contact@webcreative.com.pl and describe what you think we hold; we will answer within 30 days.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 16 and collects no information that would let us know a visitor's age. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
When the policy changes, the effective date at the top of this page is updated. Material changes — for example, adding analytics — will also be mentioned on the home page for a period after they take effect. Continued use of the site after the effective date means the updated policy applies.
